5 day long Hands-on-Workshop on “Earth Architecture (Emergency Earth Bag Shelter)” Conducted by a British Architect Illiona Khalili organized by IAB in association with HBRI (House Building and Research Institute) in 2014. 
 
3 day Workshop on Computational Design and Fabrication (Rhino and Grasshopper) titled "TOOLS MATTER: Computational Design & Fabrication" in the Department of Architecture of AIUB (from10-12 September) in 2015.

Organized by Bengal Institute of Architecture, Landscapes and Settlements, 2015. 

PROFESSIONAL HIGHLIGHTS

1st Prize in the International Design Competition for Royal Institute of Management (RIM)   Bhutan, (as member of the design team with TKNRK & Associates).

 

3rd Prize in the international design competition 2010_Druk Green (as member of the design team with TKNRK & Associates).

 

Design idea placed within top 50 entries around the world in an international Design competition titled Bamiyan Cultural Centre in Bamiyan, Afghanistan. 
 
Participated in an International Design Competition tilted A sculpture or monument for Nagasaki Peace Park in Japan. 
 
 Shortlisted in the BUILDING4HUMANITY design competition for designing a sustainable flood-safe home in 2018 in Portugal. 
 

Participated in Logo design competition titled ‘’ARCASIA FORUM 20’’ 2019, Bangladesh.

OVERVIEW

Salma Begum is a Bangladeshi Architect. Having been a distinguished student herself throughout her academic career – from being the recipient of Vice Chancellor’s Gold Medal in Bachelor of Architecture to double masters from BUET, Bangladesh and KU Leuven, Belgium with distinction, she is now engaged in nurturing next generation architects in the Department of Architecture at Ahasanullah University as an Assistant Professor. She is also a practicing architect – involved in various notable projects both domestically and internationally. She frequently contributes in international architectural publications benefiting the community. Outside architecture world, she is an avid traveler and a photographer.
